The USGS National Wildlife Health Center, Research Microbiology / Plague lab of Dr. Rocke, was my PhD home. Dr. Osorio's arbovirology and vaccine lab was home at UW-Madison.
To be able to assess the impact of the prairie dog oral sylvatic plague vaccine on non-target small rodents and further evaluate the role of short-lived rodents in plague ecology on prairie dog colonies, I worked with the amazing NWHC crew, Dr. Rocke's state and federal collaborators and I recruited, trained and mentored my ambitious team! Without this crew, the work could have not been done.
Working with my team was great, but seeing them grow has been even better!
